Ingredients

Japanese mushroom extract Kombucha, Cortinellus

These mushrooms contain biologically active ingredients and a high concentration of polysaccharides, which have medicinal properties. They grow mainly in Japan, China, and Korea. The mushrooms contain the polysaccharide lentinan, which has been studied mainly in Japan and the United States, and was found to have many medicinal properties. These mushrooms contain a large quantity of the polysaccharide chitin. The extract of the mushroom is water-soluble and is composed of polysaccharides and amino acids (serine, alanine, threonine, and proline). In addition, the extract contains a unique amino acid called eritadenine. This extract also contains a material that increases the production of macrophagic cells of the immune system, which destroy foreign cells that enter the body (such as germs), and large quantities of vitamin D, B Group vitamins, niacin, and several other enzymes. Effects of the Japanese Mushroom Lentinan is known as a general immune system strengthener and increases the body´s ability to fight off cancer or liver disease. The polysaccharide lentinan is also known to be effective against Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and sleeping disorders. In Japan, lentinan is used for extending the life of cancer patients. The mushroom has documented positive effects in cases of allergies, cirrhosis of the liver, autoimmune diseases, rheumatism, and viral illnesses. The amino acid eritadenine can affect the reduction of cholesterol in the blood.

Gamma Linolenic Acid GLA

GLA is an essential fatty acid and one of the important sources of creating prostaglandins. Hormonal changes and stressful situations in women can cause a lack of GLA and by doing so, reduces the production of prostaglandins. Adding GLA encourages the creation of prostaglandins, reduces tension, and improves facial skin.

Gat Plus – The Best Leaves and Essential Vitamins

Due to these scientific facts and after many Israeli men and women and western countries had been introduced to gat´s characteristics but found they couldn´t chew the leaves, Dr. Green Laboratories developed unique capsules that, on the one hand, contain fresh leaves of the gat plant and, on the other hand, essential vitamins and minerals such as vitamin C, vitamin E, zinc, beta carotene, and glutamic acid. This combination is known to provide the body with strength, energy, vitality, and increased sexual desire.

Gingko Biloba

By increasing the arterial blood flow, gingko biloba can aid men suffering from impotence. Gingko biloba is a tree with the longest lifespan in the world, up to 1000 years. The tree grows mainly in South America and in China. For thousands of years, gingko biloba was used mainly for: treating Alzheimer´s disease, infertility in men, asthma, atherosclerosis, depression, diabetes, migraines, and dizziness.

Ginkgo Biloba

Ginkgo biloba is a species of tree with the longest lifespan in the world – about 1000 years. The tree grows mainly in the eastern part of South America as well as in China. The primary usage of the tree´s leaves is for the conditions of: Alzheimer´s disease, low sperm count, asthma, atherosclerosis, depression, diabetes, migraines, dizziness, and more. Traditional Chinese medicine has included the use of ginkgo biloba for almost 5000 years. The main use of the tree´s nuts was for treatment of respiratory tract problems and tea made from the tree´s leaves worked to enhance memory in the elderly. Two main groups of active ingredients are the basis for the medical effectiveness of ginkgo biloba extract. The first group is ginkgo flavone glycosides – the activity of these substances helps to prevent blood circulation problems such as athero-sclerosis, prevent platelets from sticking together in the blood, and support the brain and central nervous system. The second group is terpene lactones – it consists of ingredients that increase the blood flow to the brain and to other systems in the body, makes the blood flow more efficient, and works to protect nerve cells in the central nervous system in the brain.

Ginseng

There are those who attribute many therapeutic qualities to ginseng root, especially in recent years. Research has shown that ginseng root has a claming effect, which enables one to overcome mental and physical fatigue and to withstand conditions of pressure and tension.

Glucosamine Sulfate

Glucosamine is the essential component of the cartilage that prevents degeneration. It supplies the joints with the foundation that is needed in order to repair the damage caused by degenerative joint disease or alternative damages which are the result of injury. Glucosamine supplies the material the body needs to produce glucosamino-glycons (GAGs), which are found in the cartilage. A proper quantity of glucosamine provides a normal working metabolism in the cartilage and a renewal in the process of building cartilage and rehabilitating degenerated cartilage (as long as there is more glucosamine, there will be many more protoglycons and much more water will be absorbed into the right places). Our bodies produce glucosamine but when we age, we lose some of it as well as components of the cartilage. This loss can lead to weakening of the cartilage and the beginning of, or worsening of, degenerative joint disease. The food we consume does not provide glucosamine in significant quantities, which is why it is necessary to consume it through food supplements.

Lycopene

Lycopene is found mostly in tomatoes. It is a pigment from the carotenoid family and has antioxidation characteristics. A study conducted at Harvard University examined the ratio between carotenoids and the risk of developing prostate cancer. From all the carotenoids, lycopene was found to be the most efficient. Participants in this study who received 6.5 mg of carotenoids a day showed a 21% decrease in developing prostate cancer. This research showed that lycopene is an important factor in preventing prostate cancer. Lycopene is a carotenoid found in the prostate gland. High blood levels of lycopene were found to prevent prostate cancer. Lycopene delays the development of cancer cells better than other carotenoids, even better than beta carotene. Earlier research showed the connection between eating tomatoes and the low rate of developing prostate cancer. Lycopene can be found in tomatoes, foods that contain tomatoes (except tomato juice), watermelons, and guava.

Hydroxy Citric Acid HCA

Hydroxy citric acid is a natural extract of the Garcinia cambogia peel, which is an exotic variety of plant from the citrus family that grows in southern Asia. According to scientific studies, HCA´s value lies in its ability to suppress appetite and aid in the reduction of cholesterol levels. Biochemical studies done at the Roche Institute in the United States discovered that HCA decreases the synthesis of fats in the blood and the production of cholesterol. It encourages production of glycogen and therefore, reduces appetite and the craving for sweets.

Fo-Ti Polygonum multiflorum

A plant originally from China, fo-ti also grows in Japan and Taiwan. The main parts of the plant used are the roots which, in traditional Chinese medicine, were known as an effective medicine for preventing constipation. The Chinese name for fo-ti is “He Shu Wa”, which is the name of a man from the Tang Dynasty who was impotent and cured by fo-ti. In addition, his long life was the result of using the plant. Since then, traditional Chinese medicine has used fo-ti to slow the aging process and treat constipation, weakness, viral infections, heart problems, vaginal secretions, and impotence. Studies show that fo-ti plays an important role in strengthening the immune system, creating red blood cells, and antibacterial activity.

Jerusalem artichoke

rich in FOS, balances cholesterol and blood pressure

Koko manga

Koko manga is the dried stone of Myristica fragrans, a large tree from the Spice Islands near New Guinea. Today, the tree is grown in many places. It reaches a height of 50 feet and stores its seeds for up to 60 years. The tree´s fruit is similar in form to peaches and contains brownish-purple seeds, which are in a red shell. The shell is used for creating musk fragrance and the dried seeds become the koko manga. Koko manga is used in Hindu medicine for treating high fever, asthma, and heart disease. From the 17th century, Arab doctors used it for digestive problems and lymphatic diseases. However, its common use is for increasing sexual desire.

L-Carnitine

A material produced by the body and found in food supplements, as well as essential for the normal functioning of sperm cells. In several studies, a 3 g supplement per day for four months aided the normalization of sperm cells in men with poor quality sperm.

L-carnitine

balances metabolism of fat and by doing so, delays the creation of fat tissues and dissolves them

L-Carnitine

Essential for the process of energy production and plays a leading role in fat metabolism. It is important for the balance of triglycerides and cholesterol levels in the blood.

Arginine

An amino acid found in many foods. The body needs arginine in order to produce sperm. Studies show that a nutritional supplement of arginine, taken for several months, increases the sperm count, its quality, and fertility. Doctors of natural medicine recommend 4 g of arginine a day for several months.

Guar Gum

Guar gum is a soluble fiber, which affects the lowering of sugar and insulin levels in the blood. A plant that grows in India produces this fiber. In 1978, the British Medical Journal published a study that probed the effectiveness of guar gum. More studies showed that consuming 12-15 g of guar gum a day is necessary to produce a feeling of satiety and lower fat and blood sugar levels.

Chitosan

Chitosan is a natural fiber produced by the polysaccharide chitin and is similar to the chemical structure of cellulose, which is a nutritious fiber. Chitin´s attributes are similar to those of cellulose. However, in contrast to cellulose, it has the ability to attach itself to fat molecules in an unusual way by absorbing fat in the digestive tract. In the last three decades, chitosan has been used to purify toxic water. When chito-san is scattered over water, it absorbs grease, oil, heavy metals, and other toxins. How Does Chitosan Absorb Fat? Chitosan has a powerful magnetic pull on fats and bile which prevents them from being absorbed into the bloodstream. In the digestive tract, the chitosan becomes gel-like with a positive charge. Fat molecules that are negatively charged attach themselves to the chitosan. The electrical connection creates large polymer components that can´t be broken down by the digestive system. The chitosan polymers become very big and therefore can´t be absorbed in the digestive tract. Finally, the polymers are excreted as waste by the digestive system and by this action, they take the fats with them. Chitosan is also called lipophilic which, scientifically, means “attract fat”. Usually, nutritious fibers are hydrophilic, which means “repels fat and attracts water”. In conclusion, chitosan attaches itself to fats and cholesterol and by doing so, prevents them from being absorbed into the bloodstream. Laboratory research shows that chitosan has the ability to attach itself to fats better than other fibers. Actually, studies done on 23 different types of fiber found that chitosan is 55% more active than any other fiber in preventing the absorption of fat in the digestive tract. It is easy to show how efficient chitosan is in absorbing fat and removing it from the digestive system by checking the percentage of fat in the feces. Optimally, chitosan can attach to itself fats that are four to five times more than its own weight.

B Vitamins

B6 and B12 are essential for the metabolism of proteins, carbohydrates, and fats; building red blood cells; normal division of cells; healthy skin; and normal activity of the nervous system. Vitamin B6 helps to build materials responsible for neural transmissions, such as serotonin and norepinephrine, which prevent depression, fatigue, mood swings, anxiety, and sleep disorders. Adding vitamin B6 reduces the risk of developing heart disease because it has the ability to break down the amino acid homocysteine, which causes damage to the blood vessels.

Bilberry and Cranberry

These berries grow in Europe and North America. Bilberries contain bioflavonoids, which improve blood flow in the veins and aid in preventing varicose veins.

Bioflavonoids

Bioflavonoids belong to the complex group of vitamin C and in fact, do support each other. Synthetic production of bioflavonoids is not possible so they will always appear in their natural form. They occur in citrus peels, apricots, plums, strawberries, and other fruits and vegetables. They are active mainly in the blood capillaries and prevent the blood cells from collecting and sticking together. The vitamin P group helps to thin the blood so that it will reach all the capillaries and body cells (in this way, it prevents the use of aspirin as a blood thinning agent, which also causes internal bleeding). Bioflavonoids also help to prevent bleeding gums and treat dizziness caused by equilibrium problems of the inner ear. Of course, all the attributes of vitamin C perform the same function as vitamin P.

bioflavonoids

Fruits rich in bioflavonoids such as cherries, cranberries, and bilberries, are effective in treating and preventing varicose veins. These fruits are a rich source of ingredients that can: a)Increase capillary strength b)Increase the strength of all the cellular walls of the veins c)Delay the breakdown of compounds that make up the basic substance d)Increase the veins´ muscles´ ability to stretch

Bioflavonoids Vitamin P

Bioflavonoids are a part of a complex group of materials that prevent oxidation and include up to 30 different substances. Most of the bioflavonoids´ qualities are similar to those of vitamin C and they actually support one another and are always together. Vitamin P cannot yet be synthetically produced (but vitamin C is). This is why it will always appear in its natural form. Bioflavonoids are found in citrus fruits, apricots, plums, strawberries, cherries, grapes, peppers, rose hips, and vegetables. Effects of Bioflavonoids (Vitamin P) Bioflavonoids work to protect and preserve the capillaries. One of their functions is to prevent the accumulation and sticking together of blood cells (such as vitamin C does in arteries and veins). The vitamin P group aids in thinning the blood and allowing it to reach all the capillaries and body cells. In addition, bioflavonoids prevent bleeding gums, treat dizziness caused by inner-ear imbalance, and of course, perform all the other functions of antioxidants.

Black Cohosh Cimicifuga racemosa

Black cohosh is a bush-like plant that grows in North America. American doctors began using the dried roots from as early as the 19th century for treating gyne-cological problems, menstrual cramps, and joint inflammation. The plant contains an ingredient called formononetin, which combines with the estrogen receptor. Clinical studies done in Germany showed that the extract of black cohosh can reduce the secretion of Leutinizing Hormone (LH), which is responsible for hot flashes.

Gamma Linolenic Acid GLA

Gamma linolenic acid is an essential fatty acid and is one of the essential resources for creating prostaglandins. Low levels of “positive” prostaglandins can cause PMS stress. Hormonal changes and stress in women can cause a lack of GLA and therefore, low levels of prostaglandins. Supplementing GLA encourages the creation of “positive” prostaglandins and in reviewed studies, using GLA showed positive results in cases of PMS, menopause, and mental stress.

butcher´s broom

a plant from the lily family, called by this name because butchers once used its branches as brooms. One of its natural medicinal uses is in treating damaged veins, which lead to varicose veins. Clinical studies showed the effectiveness of combining vitamin C, bioflavonoids, and butcher´s broom for treating chronic malfunctioning veins

Fruit powder

supplemented with water expands in the stomach to provide a feeling of fullness

Chondroitin Sulfate

Chondroitin sulfate is a type of glucosaminoglycon and is regarded as a main component in the cartilage. Its purpose is to transfer liquid to the cartilage and by doing so, makes the cartilage more shock absorbent. Chondroitin works like a water magnet by helping to draw liquid into the protoglycon molecules. This fact is important for the following reasons: a) the liquid works as a shock absorber, and b) cartilage joints do not have their own blood supply so all lubrication and food materials in liquid form enter the joints only when there is not any pressure on the joints themselves. Without this liquid, the cartilage will suffer from dehydration, undernourishment, and will shrivel up and become very fragile. Other functions of chondroitin are: protection of existing cartilage by preventing destructive enzyme activity and creating protoglycons, glucosaminoglycons, and collagen – these molecules are used as the basis for healthy new cartilage. We receive small amounts of chondroitin from the food we eat. Chondroitin is found in most living tissues, especially those surrounding the joints. Part of the chondroitin that we eat is absorbed by our bodies completely and assimilated into numerous tissues between the cartilage and joints. Chondroitin accumulates from food supplements and works just as well as what is found naturally in our cartilage. Much research has been done in the way of double-blind studies that analyzed and confirmed the effectiveness of chondroitin and glucosamine in humans. Extensive research was done on the effects of glucosamine on participants in Portugal in which there were 252 doctors and 1,208 subjects. The subjects received 1.5 g of glucosamine three times a day for 36-64 days (average of 50 days). Results of the study showed: a) pain decreased permanently during treatment, b) 95% of the subjects who participated in the study experienced a satisfactory clinical reaction, and c) glucosamine has proven itself to be a long-term treatment and it continued to work for 6-12 weeks after the treatment was completed. In 1986, French scientists conducted an especially interesting experiment on the effects of chondroitin. Fifty subjects suffering from osteoarthritis in the knee received chondroitin tablets and painkiller tablets in different amounts: chondroitin sulfate – 800-1200 mg, painkillers – 500 mg. Samples of the cartilage tissue were tested at the beginning of the study and after three months of treatment, the group that received chondroitin found that the damaged cartilage had rehabilitated itself in a significant way. Other research showed positive results for improvement of pain and joint stiffness.

Chromium Nicotinate

Chromium, known for years as a key mineral that maintains controlled insulin levels, contributes to the balance of blood sugar levels. It reduces the craving for sweets, increases the rate of metabolic activity, aids the body in burning fat, and maintains lean muscle mass. Chromium in its nicotinate form is most effective in boosting energy and promoting weight loss without harsh dieting limitations.

Coenzyme Q10

Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) is an essential substance that is required for producing energy for cells. Aging and different diseases weaken the production of coenzyme Q10, a fact that might increase the deterioration of the disease. Coenzyme Q10 supplements contribute to slowing down the aging process, strengthening the immune system, improving resistance to infectious diseases, preventing cancer, and strengthening and protecting the heart system. It also contributes to improving different neurological diseases, improving mental functioning of patients who suffer from dementia and Alzheimer´s disease, improving and stopping gum disease, decreasing hemorrhaging, preventing gums from receding, and aiding in faster recovery from common illnesses such as the flu, allergies, and minor infections.

Coenzyme Q10

Coenzyme Q10 is an essential substance found in our bodies that produces energy and transports it to all the cells. Coenzyme Q10 is found in certain foods, but in order for it to function, it must be changed into an active form in the body. Aging and illnesses harm the production of Coenzyme Q10, which can lead to a poor state of health, exhaustion, and a weak immune system. Effects of Coenzyme Q10 Coenzyme Q10 supplements contribute to: 1) a better production of energy from food 2) strengthening the immune system and improving resistance to infectious diseases and cancer 3) strengthening and protecting the cardiovascular system, including insufficient blood flow and pressure 4) improving different neurological disorders 5) improving athletes´ ability while maintaining normal blood pressure without side effects 6) improving mental functioning in dementia patients, including those with Alzheimer´s disease 7) improving gum disease, reducing bleeding of the gums, and preventing receding gums 8) faster recovery from common illnesses such as the flu, allergies, and infections

Dandelion Taraxacum officinale

Dandelion is a common plant from the chicory family that grows in the Unites States and Europe. The plant´s leaves are used as an addition to salads and tea and its roots are used as a substitute for coffee. For hundreds of years and also today, the plant is used for treating the liver, gall bladder, and kidneys. In different cultures, dandelion was considered a blood cleanser and was used for treating diseases such as eczema and cancer. Dandelion is a rich source of B vitamins, vitamin C, vitamin D, iron, magnesium, and zinc. One of the main uses of the plant´s roots is treating constipation.

Folic Acid

folic acid is necessary for the normal activity of nucleic acid, which is responsible for passing genetic information, production of protein and blood cells in the bone marrow, and normal activity of the nervous system. This acid is essential for all women, especially those of childbearing age, pregnant women, and menopausal women.

Magnesium

magnesium is lost during menopause. This loss appears as exaggerated neural sensitivity accompanied by pain, general sensitivity, and low tolerance for pain.

Bromelain

Bromelain is a group of protolitin enzymes that break down the proteins into peptins. It is found in pineapple root. Bromelain produces an anti-inflammatory effect. It eases rheumatic inflammation and decreases swelling. Double-blind studies found that bromelain is effective in lessening the effects of swelling, bruising, and pain that appear after surgery. Research also shows that bromelain helps people who suffer from rheumatoid arthritis. In an experiment in which bromelain was given for different periods of time (3 weeks to 3 months), 73% of the subjects reported excellent results.

Vitamin C

This vitamin is essential for the production of hormones related to the kidneys (hysteroids), which enable you to withstand tension and stress. A lack of vitamin C can cause exhaustion, depression, hysteria, and hypochondria.

Spirulina

Spirulina alga is nutritiously unique. It contains 62% amino acid. It is a rich source of vitamin B12 and contains a whole spectrum of vitamins, minerals, and other ingredi-ents essential to the functioning of the body. Researchers believe that spirulina has obvious advantages as an anti-cancer food and immune system strengthener.

Spirulina platensis

Spirulina is from the blue-green algae family. It originated in warm lakes in Africa and Central America. Its form is that of multicellular coils, whose length can reach hundreds of microns. Spirulina contains several ingredients that make it a perfect food: protein (up to 65% dry weight) – the protein in this alga is richer than that found in steak; vitamins A, B2, B12, C, D, carotenes, minerals, and gamma linolenic acid. Effects of Spirulina platensis Medical facilities in Japan and Mexico showed great interest in the value of spirulina as a nutritious supplement for medical care, mainly when it was found that the root of an illness was malnutrition. Generally, it was also found that spirulina is effective against diabetes, anemia, liver disease, pancreatitis, vision disorders, allergies, and senility. Another important quality of spirulina is preventing obesity. Not only is it low in fat, calories, and cholesterol, it also produces a feeling of satiety. Spirulina maintains a normal blood sugar level, which prevents feelings of hunger. In addition, spirulina also contains one of the amino acids that directly affect the hunger center of the brain – something that aids in the regulation of appetite for weight loss.

Spirulina platensis

Spirulina, which belongs to the group of blue-green algae, earned its reputation as the “perfect food” because of its rich ingredients. It contains about 65% pure and rich protein (more than can be found in red meat), vitamins A, B2, B12, C, and E, carotenes, minerals, gamma linolenic acid, and more. Medical institutions in Japan and Mexico showed much interest in spirulina´s worth as a food supplement in medical treatment, mainly when chronic malnutrition appeared to be the source of the illness. It was also determined that spirulina is effective against diabetes, anemia, liver problems, pancreatitis, eye problems, loss of blood cells, allergies, and senility. Another important characteristic of spirulina is that it prevents fat buildup. It is low in fat, calories, cholesterol, and balances blood glucose levels, which prevents feelings of hunger and causes a feeling of satiety.

Vitamin A

a recent study done at the University of Minnesota in the United States found that women who received vitamin A in normal quantities had a 50% reduced risk of developing heart disease than women who did not receive any vitamin A. Vita-min A is a powerful antioxidant and aids in slowing down the process of cell aging.

Vitamin B Complex

Vitamins B6 and B12 are involved in the body´s metabolism, cell growth, creating red blood cells, the immune system, the digestive system, and the central nervous system. Most clinical studies point out the effectiveness of what vitamin B6 supplements can do for treating PMS and menopause. Vitamin B6 is in meat, liver, grains, vegetables, bananas, and egg yolks. Although in situations of menopause, there is a need for significant nutritional supplementation of vitamin B6.

Vitamin B12

An essential vitamin needed for increasing fertility. Vitamin B12 shots increased sperm count in men with low sperm count. The same results were shown in a double-blind study.

Lecithin

Physiologically influences the central nervous system, cardiovascular system, and metabolism. There are those who attribute the lowering of cholesterol levels to lecithin, as well as preventing arteriosclerosis and heart attacks, lowering blood pressure, preventing depression, improving memory, and relieving symptoms of Alzheimer´s disease. The RDA is 1 to 5 g.

Vitamin C

protects the sperm against oxidative damage. Vitamin C supplements improve the quality of the sperm in men who smoke. When the sperm stick together, fertility is reduced. Vitamin C reduces the attachment of the sperm and increases fertility in men who suffer from this problem. Many doctors of natural medicine recommend 1 g of vitamin C each day for men who suffer from fertility problems and for whose who are diagnosed with clinging sperm.

Siberian Ginseng

Improve erection. Siberian ginseng has been a part of Chinese medicine for 2000 years. It is used mainly for elderly people to improve their physical and mental well-being. Two main uses of ginseng today are treatment for diabetes and for infertility in men. Furthermore, ginseng is used for treating Alzheimer ´s disease, supporting chemotherapy patients, HIV, colds and flu, infections and inflammations, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and improvement in athletic ability.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C is necessary for the absorption of glucosamine and chondroitin by cartilage tissue. It increases the efficiency of the minerals and has a positive effect on the way the joints function.

Vitamin E

Early studies in humans showed that 100-200 IU of vitamin E given to two couples suffering from infertility resulted in a significant increase in fertility.

Vitamins and Minerals

essential for the body to function and strengthen the ability to maintain the diet

Witch Hazel

The plant is an excellent example for showing how modern research has approved of botanical plants for use in traditional medical practice. Witch hazel has proven to be effective in treating varicose veins, as well as having anti-inflammatory properties.

Zinc

A lack of zinc can cause a reduction in testosterone levels. For men with low levels of testosterone, a zinc supplement will increase the level of testosterone, therefore, increasing fertility. In men with a low sperm count, a zinc supplement will increase the amount of sperm and therefore, fertility. The optimal dosage of a zinc supplement is not yet known, although doctors of natural medicine tend to recommend 25 mg of zinc per day.

Zinc

Consuming zinc and having it absorbed by the body are significant in preventing and treating BPH. Studies have proven that zinc reduces the size of the prostate gland and the symptoms of most patients. The clinical effectiveness of zinc is probably rooted in its ability to cover the many aspects of hormonal metabolism. Zinc delays the activity of an enzyme that converts testosterone to dihydrotestosterone irreversibly. It also delays the connection between two male hormones to molecular cell receivers. In this way, there is an increased secretion of these hormones.

Vitamin B3

This vitamin is essential for improved blood flow and lowering cholesterol levels. It is essential for creating sex hormones. A lack of this vitamin causes appetite loss, digestive problems, irritation, and tension.

Protein

essential to a balanced body and promotes a feeling of satiety

Magnesium

The recommended daily dosage of magnesium for men and women between the ages of 25 to 50 is 350 mg. A lack of magnesium affects the cardiovascular system, central nervous system, and kidneys, and causes symptoms such as apathy and weakness.

Magnesium and Zinc

Magnesium is a mineral needed for several chemical and physical processes essential for growth, development, and health. A lack of magnesium is a substantial cause for the symptoms of PMS and menopause. This lack is characterized by exaggerated nervous sensitivity, accompanied by general pain and a low tolerance for pain. Zinc is another mineral that aids in the process of metabolism and normal heart activity. Supplementing zinc can even contribute to the healing of acne.

Natural Maitake Extract

The mushroom´s extract contains pure, three-branched beta-carotene of the highest standard, which is composed of 30% protein produced from the mushroom´s fruit. Researchers claim that the complexity of maitake´s branches makes it the noblest of all medicinal mushrooms concerning body immune system stimulators. Efficiency in Cancer Treatments Many studies have been done in the area of the medicinal attributes of maitake mushroom in Japan and gradually, in other countries around the world. Initial research on the subject of anti-cancer and anti-tumor agents was done in independent and university laboratories, mainly in Japan and later, in other clinical frameworks. Several institutions for treating cancer in the United States conducted clinical experiments. Recently, an Israeli study at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem began in order to examine the effects of capsules containing maitake mushroom extract in treating cancer. A study done in Japan included 165 patients with advanced cancer who received the mushroom extract and tablet form of maitake mushroom. Some of the patients received chemotherapy treatments. In most of the cases, there was a regression in the condition of the tumor or a significant improvement in the symptoms of the disease. Studies that have examined the effectiveness of the mushroom on improving side effects of chemotherapy found that patients experience a 90% improvement of side effects such as loss of appetite, hair loss, nausea and vomiting, and low white blood cell count. Maitake mushroom increases the activity of cells that attack the cancer cells, as well as increasing the immune system cells, and by doing so, increases their whole function. Reduction of T-Cells in AIDS Patients Tests conducted in the early stages of anti-HIV activity at the National Institute for Health in Japan and the National Cancer Institute in the United States showed positive results that led to independent clinical research. Studies show that the use of maitake extract reduces the T-cell count in AIDS patients, similar to the results received using AZT (conventional medicine), but without any side effects.

Nettle

Nettle has a long history of use in medicine, mainly for treating colds, tuberculosis, and arthritis. Today, nettle is used mostly for treating BPH, hay fever, and pregnancy. Nettle leaves have an anti-inflammatory effect on the body by preventing the production of inflammatory chemicals called prostaglandins. Nettle root has various effects on hormones and proteins that carry the sex hormones (such as testosterone and estrogen) in the human body. This fact can explain why nettle root aids in treating BPH, as proven by scientific research. The recommended dosage of nettle for treating BPH is 240 mg of nettle root extract a day in tablet or capsule form, especially in combination with saw palmetto and pygeum extracts.

Pantothenic Acid

Part of the B vitamins, it is essential for central nervous system development, healthy skin, and hormone secretion from the adrenal glands. A lack of this vitamin can cause restlessness, depression, fatigue, and short-temperedness.

Passiflora incarnata

The herb Passiflora incarnata is the central ingredient in Mood Plus. This herb functions as a relaxant and works to prevent insomnia, release muscle tension, and lower high blood pressure. The medicinal use of P. incarnata began in the 19th century in the United States as a treatment for lack of rest, irritability, and digestive problems. The plant affects mainly the nervous system and is especially useful in situations of anxiety caused by mental stress and overwork. Acceptance of the plant´s use for the treatment of insomnia and irritability in Germany in recent years has occurred. Recent research has found that flavonoids in P. incarnata are responsible for the calming and anti-anxiety effect of the plant. Since 1930, research has found that P. incarnata is a medicinal plant that has a calming effect, unlike other medications that produce feelings of drowsiness.

Soy Isoflavones

Soy products contain large quantities of isoflavones. Phytoestrogens produce Isoflavones, which consist of vegetable ingredients and have a chemical structure and biological activity similar to natural estrogen. During menopause, when there is a reduction of hormonal activity, the isoflavones function in place of the natural estrogen and can bring relief from the typical side effects of menopause. Scientific studies show that adding soy to women´s diets can immensely improve their feeling of well-being during menopause and even reduce the risk of developing heart disease, osteoporosis, and cancer. A study done at the University of Milan found that patients on a low-fat diet had a small reduction in levels of cholesterol, although when researchers added soy protein to the diets, the LDL cholesterol was reduced by 21% in three week´s time.

Polysaccharides

balance blood glucose levels and reduce feelings of hunger

Skullcap Scutellaria lateriflora

Scutellaria is from the mint family and is very popular in the United States. Its common use in ancient times, as well as its use today, was for the treatment of anxiety and insomnia. The plant´s properties treat, soothe, and relax muscles and when used as an anti-allergenic, it delays the release of histamines.

Psyllium

a nutritious fiber that aids in weight reduction and lowers the level of blood cholesterol

Psyllium Plantago ovata

Psyllium is known mainly for its use in treating constipation. However, in India, where the plant grows, native Indian tradition also used it for treating diarrhea, hemorrhoids, bladder problems, and high blood pressure. Psyllium is rich in fiber and the seeds contain 10-30% of a gelatin-like substance. Psyllium´s ability to cleanse the stomach is a result of the shells of the seeds expanding when they come into contact with water and creating a high percentage of the gelatin-like substance, which keeps the stool soft and hydrated. Studies show that psyllium seeds are effective in treating constipation, which is a result of poor nutrition and not as a result of an illness. Studies showed that psyllium can reduce cholesterol levels (without damaging good cholesterol). It is important to drink large amounts of water while using psyllium.

Pygeum africanum

Pygeum africanum is an evergreen tree that grows in the high places of central and southern Africa. The main use of the tree´s bark is for treating BPH. European scientists who were impressed by reports of the pygeum´s ability to relieve urinary disorders began laboratory research on the active ingredients of the tree´s bark. These studies led to the development of extracts that are fat-soluble and used today. Chemical and pharmacological research indicates that the extract from P. africanum bark contains three categories of active ingredients: Phytosterols: includes beta cytosterol, known to be anti-inflammatory as a result of blocking the production of pro-inflammatory prostaglandins, which tend to accumulate in the prostate gland of men who suffer from BPH. The second category is that it has the effect of being anti-edema. The third category contains ingredients called ferulic esters, which reduce the levels of the hormone prolactin (increases absorption of testosterone by the prostate gland) and block the absorption of cholesterol. Pygeum africanum was proven by scientific research to aid men with BPH. The recommended quantity for people who suffer from BPH is 50-100 mg twice a day.

Saw Palmetto Extract

The main use of saw palmetto strawberries, which grow in North America, is the treatment of BPH. Some believe that the strawberry plant increases the production of sperm cells and increases the male sex drive. The extract of saw palmetto, which is soluble in oil, was found to be a reducing factor of dihydrotestosterone quantities (an active form of testosterone) in the prostate without damaging the production of this form of testosterone in other parts of the body. Saw palmetto reduces the activity of inflammatory substances which can contribute to BPH. In the last decade, many clinical studies have shown that consuming 320 mg of saw palmetto strawberries a day can effectively relieve the symptoms of BPH. A 3-year study done in Germany found that consuming 160 mg of saw palmetto extract twice a day reduced the need to urinate at night in 73% of the patients and significantly improved the flow of the urine. Studies have proven that combining saw palmetto extract together with nettle root can provide a more successful treatment for BPH.

Selenium

Selenium is a mineral which activates an enzyme called glutathione peroxidase that delays oxidation, a process that can protect against cancer. A recent scientific study that tested 1300 participants found that those who received 200 mcg of selenium a day for 7 years, their death rate from cancer was 50% lower, compared to a placebo group that never received selenium. Selenium is known to increase the delaying of the oxidative influence of vitamin E. Brewer´s yeast, whole wheat flour, seafood, and butter all contain selenium. The main reason for using selenium in natural medicine is to reduce the risk of developing cancer. Selenium can also be used to treat asthma, atherosclerosis, and for immune system support. Recommended quantities of selenium for adults are 100-200 mcg a day.

Siberian Ginseng

Chinese medicine has included the use of Siberian ginseng for 2000 years. Its main use was for improving the mental and physical well-being of the elderly. Today, its main use is for diabetes, low sperm count, Alzheimer´s disease, support for chemo-therapy treatment, HIV, colds and flu, inflammation and infections, stress, chronic fatigue, and improving athletic ability.
